About China MRI Cost

China MRI Cost is an independent price index for MRI, CT and PET-CT scans in mainland China, written in English for people who live outside China or who live in China but do not read Chinese.

Why it exists

Waits for a scan are long in several public health systems, and cash prices in the United States are high. Many people have heard that scans in China are cheap, but the numbers they find are scattered: a coordinator's package price here, a forum post there, an official fee schedule in Chinese that few people outside China ever read. This site puts the official fee schedules, the hospital-published prices and the coordinators' public package prices side by side, with the source and the date for each one, so you can see where a number comes from before you rely on it.

What we check

• Every price links to the document or page it comes from, and shows the date we read it.
• Official prices are read from the city or province healthcare security bureau notice itself, not from a summary.
• Where we could not read a source, the page says so. We do not fill gaps with estimates presented as facts.

• We do not give medical advice. The pages have not been reviewed by a doctor; see the medical disclaimer.
• We are not affiliated with any hospital or government body named on the site.

How the site is paid for

Some pages may show advertising from Google AdSense. The free price check is free and we take no money from hospitals or coordinators for listing them. If that ever changes, for example if we introduce readers to a coordinator for a fee, this page will say so first, and we will ask each reader before passing on their details.
