# China MRI Cost

> China MRI Cost is an independent English price index for MRI, CT and PET-CT scans in mainland China: official public-hospital maximum prices for Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, published private-hospital and coordinator prices, each with its source and the date it was checked.

Official caps (2025 schedules, Grade 3 public hospitals, ordinary service, scan fee only): MRI without contrast ¥470 Beijing, ¥430 Shanghai, ¥505 Shenzhen and Guangzhou per body area; CT ¥133 to ¥231 per area; PET-CT scan fee ¥2,500 one area to ¥5,000 whole body in all four cities, tracer extra (Shanghai all-in caps ¥4,000 to ¥6,500). Prices checked 26 October 2026; dollars at the official rate of ¥6.7162 per US dollar that day.

International departments, private hospitals and coordinators are not bound by these caps. Published examples: SIMC Shanghai ¥3,500 for a one-site MRI; coordinator packages from $250 (China MedPass) and $450 (MRI in China) for MRI.
